Earthships 101 part I

This is absolutely brilliant and very encouraging. I will be following up with more of their videos. Please check this out if you have any interest in sustainable, off-grid optional, comfortable living.

Last time I went home to New Mexico I spent a day out at the Earthship community outside Taos. Those houses are fantastic. Also really comfortable.

Thanks brother it's always nice to have a firsthand account from someone I trust.

Shaykh Taner had asked me to research them when I went out there. He was very impressed with them and wants to use them as the foundation for our New York community's new housing.

They are so intelligently designed as to be almost foolproof.

Amazingly cool!

I now wish I'd stopped when I was out there in October. I saw them as I drove past and wondered what they were.

I've been singing the praises of the Earthship to you for at least 7years. Nice to see you heard me. Also, check out "formworks nestegg" for a single family system. The volume of concrete will reduce the immediate "green" rating. But the lack of exterior, little to no interior framing and the sheer longevity of the home, as an item to passed down through generations, means less new home building. No exterior is also pretty awesome. The biggest wrinkle is that you have no roof surface for rainwater collection.
